Impress agent

Slides, drafted.

A deck is not a document with pages. The Impress agent builds slides as objects — layouts, placeholders, speaker notes — rather than dumping text onto a canvas.

One prompt builds the whole deck from the open workbook: cover, agenda, KPI cards, two charts and a summary, using the workbook's own figures. Replica of the app window, driven through the agent's real states, not a screen recording.

What it does in Impress.

34 tools, grouped by what they’re for. Every capability below is a real tool the agent calls — the names are the evidence, the text explains what they let you do.

Skills.

Alongside the tools above, Impress carries 20 skills — pre-built prompt blueprints for common Impress work. A keyword match against what you ask selects one automatically and folds it into the agent’s instructions before it starts; there is no picker to operate.

Presentation types10 skills

A structure matched to the occasion — a pitch deck, a quarterly review, a keynote, a training course — rather than a generic slide-by-slide outline.

  • executive_briefing
  • keynote
  • pitch_deck
  • portfolio_review
  • product_launch
  • quarterly_review

Visual design5 skills

Deck-level visual patterns: data visualization, an infographic layout, a photo essay, animation choreography across slides, a master-slide design setup.

  • data_visualization
  • infographic
  • master_setup

Advanced techniques5 skills

Techniques beyond a linear slide deck: a comparison deck, interactive navigation between sections, a deck built from a data source, a reusable template, a timeline deck.

  • comparison_deck
  • interactive_navigation
  • slide_from_data
  • template_creation

How it actually works.

A slide is not a text box floating on a canvas. Adding one means choosing a layout — title and content, two content areas, title only — and its placeholders come from that layout, not from text dropped at a coordinate.

Content and container stay separate: filling in a title or body writes into the layout's own placeholder, a positioned text box is a genuinely separate element for captions or callouts, and speaker notes live in their own field — visible in presenter view, never printed onto the slide itself.

Where the edges are.

  • Visual polish is the active work: layout quality is being improved, and a generated deck is a starting point you edit, not a finished design.
  • It builds from your structure — give it an outline or a source document and it has something to work from.
